Jessica Sutter, PhD
Jessica Sutter founded EdPro Consulting in 2012 to share her talents with education clients across the country. She began her career as a middle school teacher, serving students in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC before moving into state policy-focused roles at the Office of the State Superintendent and Deputy Mayor for Education in the nation’s capital. From 2019-2022 she proudly served as the elected Ward 6 Representative on the DC State Board of Education, concluding her tenure as the board’s President.
At EdPro, she has managed projects, lead strategic planning efforts, and authored research for nonprofits, philanthropic organizations, youth civic organizations, school districts and public charter schools. Her writing has been published in a variety of outlets, including the NASBE Education Standard, EdWeek, and the Washington Post.
Jessica holds a BA in Political Science from Loyola College in Maryland and an MA and PhD in Education Policy Studies from the University of Maryland, College Park.
When not leading EdPro, Jessica can be found swimming, biking, and running around DC with her husband & their rescue dog, Gus. She is an active community member who currently volunteers on the boards of Washington Yu Ying Public Charter School and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington.
